Summer Camp
Alternative ‘Always’ artwork.
So most of you have probably already seen the artwork we settled on for the forthcoming EP.  But what you won’t have seen is the above, the artwork I was originally pushing for the final product.  As many of you know, Visual Eye Poems (V.EYE.P.’s) became a big part of my creative process while on tour in Europe.  While being in a band is fun and stuff, and I like the way a microphone makes my voice really loud, V.EYE.P.’s were a revelation for me.  The chance to express so many things I wanted to say, but never could, or never knew how to.
For anyone who creates for a living, putting something out into the world is a Big Deal.  After releasing Welcome To Condale, our outstanding album that everyone in the world agreed was perfect, we wanted to come back with something to say.  Our mission statement, if you will.  This version of the artwork really fulfills that brief.  Jeremy had a few things to say to the critics - tough, but it had to be done.  I, meanwhile, was sick of being portrayed as this amazing model-type superwoman with incredible hair and brilliant with the word making sense.
Hence the decisions we made above.
Of course in the end the team decided something more “abstract” would work better, also I didn’t know how to crop this to make it into a square.

Loads of love,
Elizabeth (cyclops tartan cat).
